A look back on 2019

The City Rail Link project celebrated a breathtaking 2019. We started the year still dealing with the fallout from the collapse of one of our biggest contractors. The collapse became the trigger for rapid and beneficial change inside the project; we changed the way we’re going to deliver the project, got sign-off from our sponsors on a more realistic price to build it, signed a contract with the Link Alliance to build the biggest part of the project and welcomed 10,000 Aucklanders on site to walk the tunnels.

On top of all that, we finished relocating a stormwater main at Mt Eden and completed the Strand rail improvements at Parnell – both necessary to accommodate future City Rail Link works.

And while 2020 promises to be even bigger and better, we take a quick look back to 2019 with this highlights video.
