Adios Jeffie
It’s a case of haere rā to Aotearoa for Jeffie and then a long voyage for our hard-working micro-tunnel boring machine before its bienvenida – Spanish for welcome – to Ecuador in South America.
After completing the excavation of a new stormwater tunnel for CRL at Mt Eden, Jeffie has some hard yakka ahead on the other side of the Pacific. The Mt Eden tunnel she excavated was 420 metres, the one in Ecuador will be some ten times longer! Jeffie will be put to work excavating a tunnel four kilometres long to bring water from a river to new treatment plant in one of the Ecuador’s biggest cities.
