Bus stops, train stations and ferry terminals…boring! Imagine having a giant slide across Auckland, an underwater hyper-fast train to Australia or even an elevator to space! Do you think you have a better, more creative public transport idea?

We are calling out to all children across the country to dream up their own design for a public transport station.

Send us your designs and go into the draw to win one of three $200 prizes for your school.

It could be a station that is:

• designed for rail, another mode of transport, or transport that doesn’t even exist yet!

• overground, underground, in the water, or the sky!

Design criteria

We are looking for innovative designs that highlight at least one sustainable design element that:

• reflects the culture and/or history of Aotearoa

• considers the environment

• caters for the needs of other people

What to do:

• Send in a picture, video or create a physical station

• Give your station a name and briefly describe how it is sustainable in some way

• Use your imagination! Be creative! Dream big!

Things to think of:

• What is important to you that you would incorporate into your design?

• What might people need or want in a station?

• What is original?

• What would you want in a transport station?
