Radical Recycling

A timber reuse scheme at Karangahape has contributed to some seriously gnarly moves amongst young skaters in the community.

Karangahape’s Link Alliance team set up the programme to give the community access to their timber off-cuts in December.

Since then, about 4 tonnes was given to the local skate shop, Def store, who used it to create the pictured half-pipe for the community.

For more information on Karangahape works, or to get involved with the timber reuse programme, please email the team at karangahape@linkalliance.co.nz or phone 0800 CRL TALK and press option 4 for Karangahape Station works. You can also see the Karanagahape newsletter by clicking here.
