Before and after KiwiRail works to create a scissor cross in the rail network near Mt Eden

No trains will run on the Western Line over the weekend of 8-9 August, to allow for essential City Rail Link works.

This block of lines is needed so that our contract partners, KiwiRail, can finalise the most recent track, signalling and overhead line changes to enable single line running.

Works include track upgrades at the Normanby Road level crossing which will be temporarily closed to traffic and pedestrians at this time – diversions will be clearly signposted.

A earlier block of lines allowed the KiwiRail team to install significant track infrastructure - a scissor cross - near the Mt Eden Station (pictured). This enabled the trains to run to safely through Mt Eden as works progress on our construction site . For more info please click here.
