Meet the Neighbours – Vada Hair Salon on Pitt Street

From a love of pop culture and music and fashion sprang Guy Robert’s impressive 40-year career in hair dressing, culminating in Vada – the chic salon in the cultural heart of Auckland City, Karangahape Road.

Vada was founded by Roberts nearly twenty years ago in 2001. His vision was to create a Hair Salon unique to New Zealand while also paying homage to his English roots. 

Despite being a stone’s throw away from City Rail Link works in Beresford Square, the salon is instantly welcoming and relaxed. Roberts says construction noise is an issue from time to time but he is looking forward to being able to catch the train directly from home in Mt Albert to his work’s front doorstep.

Vada has housed some of New Zealand's finest hairdressing talents and continues this tradition today. Vada stylists offer the most up-to-date cuts as well as personalised colour expertly chosen to suit each person.
