Site Photography Exhibits

If you’ve ever come across a photo from the project and thought, “how can a construction site look so beautiful?”, you would have likely seen a photo taken by Mark Barber.

Next month as part of the Auckland Festival of Photography there will be two exhibitions of Mark Barber’s photography at the CRL information hubs, Te Manawa and Te Pukaki.

The exhibitions are sponsored by our contractors Link Alliance.

Maungawhau in the works

From 7 – 17 June, new photographs of the City Rail Link by Mark Barber will be displayed at the Te Manawa information centre, at 1 New North Road in Eden Terrace.

The CRL project is more than just the sum of its built parts. The work is being completed by dedicated, highly skilled professionals, with a common goal in mind, bringing Auckland into a future with ease of transport at the forefront.

This photographic series is a window into the unseen efforts of so many. From the initial demolition of existing structures, through to the completion of the first tunnel from Maungawhau Station (Mt Eden).

The Unseen Achievers

Te Wai Horotiu Station (Aotea) is proud to present "The Unseen Achievers" by Mark Barber.

At the heart of our construction is people, who often work unassumingly above-ground but are also hidden below ground. Mark Barber’s photographic portraits transform this invisibility and eloquently capture the humanity within the toughness of the construction site.

View the exhibition during the month of June at our Te Pūkaki public information centre on the corner of Elliott and Victoria Streets, in the city centre.
