CRL’s contractor Connectus (McConnell Dowell and Downer joint venture) reached another milestone in late October with the removal of the last temporary steel strut from the Albert Street trench.

This now means 99 percent of the temporary works steel and concrete decks have now been removed from the trench.

The steel struts were used to support the trench during the bulk excavation and the construction of the tunnels. The steel struts were also used to install the suspended working and traffic deck - and suspended pedestrian crossings over the trench.

The traffic will be diverted and managed by traffic controllers. Please drive carefully and follow the instructions given by the traffic controllers.
