Meet the Neighbours: Twenty Three Café

We would like to introduce Mt Eden’s much-loved Twenty Three café owner – Emma Sparks.

Emma , pictured on the left, started at The Corner Store bar over a decade ago, and when the opportunity to take on the space next door arose in 2009, she jumped at the chance. “We thought it would be great to have a courtyard for the bar, and then when the Twenty Three site became available it made so much sense to us foodies”.

Fast forward 10 years, their popularity has not wavered – and with fresh coffee and seasonal, healthy food on hand, it is easy to see why.

The Mt Eden Road café has one of the best-kept secrets in the area – a breezy courtyard out back that provides its patrons the perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Known for their delightful eggs benedict on homemade rosti and wide range of gourmet to-go options at their counter, Twenty Three Café have quickly become a hit with the Mt Eden Station construction staff.

Emma loves the diversity of Eden Terrace, “We love being part of this community and love that we can be a place where people gather, relax and enjoy their time”.

“Our team take a lot of pride in what they do and what they serve. As one of the team said, “We genuinely are like one big family… we care about each other and our community means a lot to us”.

“We also love feedback, if it’s good then that’s great and if not so good let us know so we can make it great!” Emma says.

Emma is pictured next to Sina the café manager - who makes some of the best coffee in town .
